Oregon State University utilizes research, marketing and communication strategies and tactics to communicate and enhance the university’s reputation in Oregon and around the world. URM's staff will ensure the success of Oregon State colleagues and individual colleges in executing the brand through the following systems:

Paid Media:

All marketing and communications creative campaign materials that will be used within paid media must be reviewed and approved in advance by the Associate Director of University Relations and Marketing. The university’s agent of record will exclusively place paid media on behalf of all university clients. This work occurs in collaboration with colleagues within colleges and Oregon State divisions and units.

News Releases and Media Relations:

All Oregon State news releases and media relations are managed by URM News and Research Communications staff. This work occurs in collaboration with colleagues within colleges and Oregon State divisions and units. All press releases or formal, proactive media contacts by university employees should be routed through, handled by and/or coordinated in advance with the Office of News and Research Communications. Crisis Communications:

All crisis communications are managed by the Vice President and Associate Vice President of University Relations and Marketing. This work occurs in collaboration between URM and applicable colleges and divisions. 

Public Affairs:

All public affairs are managed by the Vice President and Associate Vice President of University Relations and Marketing. This work occurs in collaboration between URM and applicable colleges and divisions.
