shelly signsAt Oregon State University since May of 2006, Shelly Houghtaling Signs has built a department of Events able to handle any event or project that the institution needs produced.  From the etiquette of Presidential events to creating a grand opening that blows away the crowd while still coming in under budget, she loves to amaze the audience and clients.  “We are a resource for the campus community and are proud to project the best image of the University.”

Shelly began her event planning journey by working in a party rental store.  Seeing a need in brides to wrap their brain around the myriad of details, she wanted to help them have an event that both met their dreams but also stayed within budget.  These principles applied strongly towards goals in higher education when Shelly next worked for the President’s Office at Washington State University.  In the position of event coordinator she polished her presentation skills.  Shelly holds a degree in Set and Costume Design for the Stage from Emporia State University in Kansas and she has transferred the impact of the stage to the impact of prestigious events.
