Help us celebrate OSU150 by eating local seafood, learning about sustainable seafood, and talking about how seafood contributes to a healthy lifestyle! Your hosts, Kaety Jacobsen of Oregon Sea Grant and Jessica Linnell of OSU Extension Family & Community Health, share a love of eating seafood from the Oregon Coast and have teamed up for this special event.

Kaety Jacobson is based at the OSU Lincoln County Extension office in Newport, where she also serves as county Extension leader. Kaety is an expert in Outreach and engagement who works with the commercial fishing industry, ocean users, researchers, and the coastal community at large to address a variety of ocean and coastal issues. Current Projects include non-fatal injuries to commercial crab fishermen, Direct market seafood sales, and whale entanglements in fishing gear. 

 

 

 

Jessica Linnel works with community organizations through the Extension Family & Community Health program to translate public health and nutrition research into practice. She teaches courses and works on community projects that help individuals engage in healthy eating patterns and physical activity recommendations, and reduce risk of illness and injury. She also conducts applied research to identify approaches and strategies to support dietary health on the Oregon Coast.
