11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Student Experience Center, Oregon State University, Corvallis Campus

Since its start, Oregon Sea Grant has been involved in many big issues facing the coast: limits on fishing harvests; efforts to create new seafood products; the creation of protected marine reserves; and the impact of climate change on coastal communities.

During this kickoff you will also learn about the development of a grid-connected wave energy testing facility being built just off the coast of Newport and other cool marine studies opportunities at OSU.

For event questions or accommodation requests, please contact Shelly Signs, (541) 737-0724 or shelly.signs@oregonstate.edu

If you’re a student, stop by and learn about opportunities to apply for scholarships, fellowships and internships. If you’re a researcher, come learn how to apply for funding through Oregon Sea Grant. If you’ve got kids, we’ll tell you about the hands-on offerings of Oregon Sea Grant’s K-12 marine education program. Or if you’ve got questions about coastal issues, we’ll find answers.
