Henry Estate Winery has been an active collaborator with the OSU Extension Service for many years, including hosting several research projects on wine grape rootstock. Founded in 1978 by Scott Henry, an Oregon State graduate and aeronautical engineer, the winery distributes to more than 20 states and five countries. Scott is widely known for developing a trellis system to increase the quality of estate grapes, and winemakers around the world have adopted the Scott Henry Trellis System. Located in the Umpqua Valley, Henry Estate Winery is one of the first vineyards in the valley to ripen fruit each year. Estate-grown varieties make up 95 percent of all grapes used at the winery.
