Yamhill County Mushrooms was founded in 1985, employs more than 70 people and produces over 5.5 million pounds of mushrooms annually.  They have been recognized for their stewardship of the land and the rivers, employee-incentive practices and commitment to fair labor standards.  The company looked to Oregon State for a scientifically minded apprentice to continue their work and found 2013 OSU grad, Holden House. Holden has a degree in Agricultural Science.
