Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and the OSU Extension Service are partnering with OSU150 to convene an event to spark bold and visionary conversations around food systems and community food resilience.

The event will be held on September 5, 2018 at the Portland Art Museum. We anticipate an audience of up to 250 comprised of interested community members, local and regional food networks, elected officials, faculty, students, and more. Additionally, we’re planning for the event to be livestreamed to Extension offices and Agricultural Experiment Stations in all 36 Oregon counties to stimulate local conversations.

We envision speakers and conversation around several perspectives: national, regional (Oregon and Pacific Northwest), and the dynamic role of the land grant university.

The presentations will be followed by a reception at the Oregon Historical Society across the street, to showcase the OSU150 exhibit, network, and continue the conversation.

Statewide locations are encouraged to continue the conversation with facilitated discussions following the livestream presentations, tours of local Extension and research facilities, tastings (e.g., Food Hero recipes), and more.

This event is part of OSU's 150th anniversary celebration.  Learn more at OSU150.org
