2021 Food Drive: February 1 to 26
The Food Drive at Oregon State University has a long tradition of success. Every year during the month of February the university comes together and plans a wide variety of food and fund-raising activities to help the hungry. This effort is in conjunction with the Governor's State Employees Food Drive. The resources gathered by County Extension Offices, Experiment Stations, OSU-Cascades, and Centers associated with OSU go to their local food banks. Proceeds from the OSU in Corvallis benefit the non-profit agencies served in Linn-Benton Food Share. These agencies include local food pantries, the OSU food pantry, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, day care centers and shelter homes in Linn and Benton counties.
DONATE TODAY!
Oregon Food Bank can leverage funds
$1 = 4 pounds of food = over 3 meals
Why food and funds both matter
Donating food provides a direct connection between you and the hungry person who receives the food. Your food donation is tangible and reminds you that hungry people are just like you and me.
Cash donations get food to agencies. Food share agencies leverage funds by ordering low cost, hgh quality foods at quantities and prices not available to the average consumer. Cash supports innovative programs that address the root causes of hunger through advocacy and public education. It also keeps freezers running and trucks on the road.
