2023 Food Drive:  February 1 to 28

The Food Drive at Oregon State University has a long tradition of success. Every year during the month of February the university comes together and plans a wide variety of food and fund-raising activities to help the hungry. This effort is in conjunction with the Governor's State Employees Food Drive. The resources gathered by County Extension Offices, Experiment Stations, OSU-Cascades, and Centers associated with OSU go to their local food banks. Proceeds from the OSU in Corvallis benefit the non-profit agencies served in Linn-Benton Food Share. These agencies include local food pantries, the OSU food pantry, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, day care centers and shelter homes in Linn and Benton counties.

DONATE TODAY!

Oregon Food Bank can leverage funds
$1 = 4 pounds of food = over 3 meals

Why food and funds both matter

Donating food provides a direct connection between you and the hungry person who receives the food. Your food donation is tangible and reminds you that hungry people are just like you and me.

Cash donations get food to agencies. Food share agencies leverage funds by ordering low cost, high quality foods at quantities and prices not available to the average consumer.  Cash supports innovative programs that address the root causes of hunger through advocacy and public education.  It also keeps freezers running and trucks on the road.

  • Donate funds through the options below:
    • Payroll contributions - submit new and updated contributions using the Power Form
    • If you wish for your donation to go to a region outside of Linn and Benton counties please contact shelly.signs@oregonstate.edu for more information on how to direct your contribution to another area in Oregon.

  • Make a one-time contribution.  Participate in a fundraising event.  All checks should be made payable to "Linn Benton Food Share" (or LBFS.)  See your unit coordinator for information on how to deposit your contribution.
  • Donate online to Linn Benton Food Share through:

Who we help

The annual OSU Food Drive primarily raises donations for the Linn Benton Food Share.  OSU entities located in regions outside of Linn and Benton counties are encouraged to keep their donations local and simply report what they raise back to the Food Drive chair.
